LX's 2021 Awards

Dedicated to continuously pushing the boundaries of product design through innovation, 2021 has been a very successful year for LX. With that being said, we’d like to acknowledge our clients and the products, designed by LX, that have won prestigious awards this year.

Milieu Climate

This product was awarded Best in Class in the Consumer Electronics Product Design Category at the 2021 Good Design Awards. Milieu Climate is a smart thermostat that monitors the environment of any room with an array of built-in sensors and controls the temperature remotely using your voice assistant or the Milieu Climate® app.

LX worked closely with Milieu Labs in the development of the Milieu Climate system, designing the electronics, firmware and cloud backend.

AgTech Product Ecosystem

LX developed a full suite of agtech products, designed to give a farmer their entire farm in their pocket. The range comprises core devices including a remote telemetry node, trackers with advanced sensing options and a wide range of agricultural sensors and accessories. These devices connect back to an intuitive platform designed for ease of use for farmers.

Notably recognised for its sturdy design and versatility, these devices received two separate awards. 

Fully commissioned and designed by LX, this product suite received the Good Design Award under the commercial and industrial products category from Good Design Australia.

Aimed at celebrating creative and innovative design for either a component or overall product, this diverse range of products also earned a gold award at the 2021 Sydney Design Awards. Consideration is given to aspects that relate to human usage, aesthetics, selection of components and materials, and the resolution of assembly, manufacturing and the overall function.

K-Tracker

Now also part of our agtech range, commissioned by Endeavour Veterinary Ecology (EVE) and designed by LX, the K-Tracker is an innovative, lightweight system of GPS tracking tags and base stations for monitoring and tracking wild Koala populations. 

A winner of the Good Design Award, the K-Tracker provides near live location reporting as well as motion analysis and free fall detection. Designed specifically for Koalas, this award-winning device is helping reduce declining populations in Queensland.

Gainsborough Freestyle™ Electronic Trilock

Commissioned by Allegion Australia (Gainsborough Hardware) and designed by LX, this 3-in-1 precision engineered smartlock was the winner of a Good Design Award in the Hardware and Building Category from Good Design Australia this year. 

This Australian-designed product is made from premium materials and cutting-edge functionalities to give users complete control over access to their home.

LX developed the electronics, firmware and cloud system for the Trilock product so that the 3 modes of locking could be controlled both on the lock keypad and through the app. At launch, the Freestyle™ Electronic Trilock was the first lock on the market to combine the 3 modes of locking in an electronic smart lock.
