Nurochek

Winner of the 2020 Good Design Award of the Year

Nurochek is a headset that measures aspects of the brain’s electrical activity using EEG (electroencephalography).

Both affordable and portable, the custom headset broadcasts EEG signals to a smartphone for analysis and to the cloud for secure storage, revolutionising the way we assess brain health with the single push of a button. Testing with Nurocheck allows for real time reporting on injury and illness ‘in the field’, and removes the patient feedback ambiguity of diagnosing concussion in particular.  Subsequent tests can be carried out and similarities or differences from test to test may be examined by a doctor.

LX has worked closely with HeadsafeIP in the development of the Nurochek, developing the electronics hardware and firmware.

HypoMon

HypoMon(R) is a non-invasive ECG monitor for children and adolescents with Type 1 diabetes.

It monitors blood glucose levels in the user while they sleep, and sends an alert wirelessly to a parent or care giver’s base station in the event a hypoglycaemic episode is detected.

LX developed the electronics hardware and embedded firmware for the ultra-low power high integrity wireless link between the patient’s system and the base station.

K-Tracker

The K-Tracker is a light weight system of tags and base stations for tracking koalas.

Robust and light, this GPS tracker provides near-live tracking, dual sensor activity logging with motion profile analysis capabilities, orientation analysis, high-G and free fall detection as well as automatic low activity email report generation. The software backend also reports the health of tags, battery level and alerts the user if a collar drops off the network.

Powered by the LX IoT Cores, LX designed the K-Tracker from strategy to scale, including electronics hardware design, embedded firmware development, and software web application. The K-Tracker is the winner of the Sydney Engineering Excellence Awards.

Breathe Well

Breathe Well is a wireless medical device that visually guides patients undergoing radiotherapy to perform stable and reproducible breath holds.

This reduces radiation damage to the patient’s heart and lungs and reduces the risk of serious cardiac events.

LX undertook the electronic subsection development for this pioneering device.

CBA Blockchain Experiment

Temperature, humidity and location of 17 Tonnes of almonds was tracked using IoT and blockchain technology.

The experiment tracked the produce from Mildura (Australia), through the rail network to the Port of Melbourne, along the shipping route to Hamburg (Germany) on an Ethereum based blockchain in partnership with the Commonwealth Bank of Australia Innovation Lab. The project lowered costs and improved efficiency, inclusiveness and transparency in the supply chain.

LX was responsible for the development of the sensors and cloud APIs.
